  5. You may store cool therapy units in a refrigerator for future applications.
  6. With proper care, Controlled-Temperature Technology products will last for years.

NOTE: RiteTemp’s™ Controlled-Temperature Technology products are non-toxic, non-carcinogenic. Material Safety Data Sheet available upon request.

Cleaning & Storage

For long-term storage, you may store RiteTemp™ Products in the refrigerator for future use. The UniPak containing the HTF is comprised of a medical-grade polymer which repels bacteria, mildew, microbes and grime. The UniPak does not absorb water. For hygiene purposes, you may wipe the UniPak with any common disinfectant.

To clean the Unipak and fabric cover, please follow these simple guidelines:

  • Hand wash the polymer UniPak and fabric cover with a mild or disinfectant soap and warm water. Lay flat to air dry.
  • DO NOT use bleach or abrasive chemical cleansers on the fabric cover.
  • DO NOT roll, ball or crimp the medical product when storing.
  • Lay flat to store or to reenergize.

Caution: Never place product in a Microwave or Conventional Oven and Heat!

Energizing the Unipacks

When the Unipaks begin to soften and turn back to a clear liquid, it is time to energize them. Always remove the Unipaks from their fabric carrier prior to energizing.

Refrigerator Method

Lay Unipaks on a smooth, flat surface in the refrigerator. Folding or stacking the Unipaks will increase the charge time. When energized, the clear liquid changes to a semi-solid, white waxy substance.

Ice Water Method

When refrigeration is unavailable or a quicker method to energize the Unipaks is preferred, submerge the Unipaks in a suitably-sized container of ice water. The Unipak will float. Flatten and weigh down to assure even distribution of the crystalline alkanes blend. The Unipaks will take about 20 minutes to energize and be ready for use.

When energized, insert the Unipaks into the fabric carrier or mesh pockets and seal all appropriate Velcro clasps. The energized Unipaks will initially feel stiff. After a few minutes, the Unipaks will begin to soften and form to your body.

  • Hand wash the Unipaks and fabric carrier in a mild or disinfectant soap and warm water. Lay flat to dry or air dry.
  • Do not dry fabric carrier in a hot dryer as it may damage the Velcro clasps.
  • Do not bleach or use abrasive chemical cleansers on the fabric carrier.
  • Do not roll, ball or crimp the Unipaks when storing.
  • The Unipak polymer is "medical grade" and repels bacteria, mildew, microbes and grime.
  • Long-term storage in a refrigerator will not harm the Unipaks.

Caution! Never place a Unipack in a Microwave or Conventional Oven and Heat!
